Welcome to the Radical Self-Care Free Online Course. This is a simple, self-paced program that helps you focus on and improve your well-being and self-care. You can take this course at your own pace, though I would suggest setting up a timeline, either six weeks (if you are super-motivated) or six months.
The course comes in six parts, based on the following steps:
Step 1: Unplug.
Unplug from society's expectations of you. Unplug from the need for external validation. Unplug from messages that you need to be rail thin, younger, smarter, more beautiful, rich, and clothed in expensive designer-wear to be worthwhile.
Step 2: Relax.
Relax not only means taking time out for some R&R, but also to relax about everything! Is the thing you are stressing out going to mean the end of the world and life as we know it? If not, learn to chill out about it.
Step 3: Exercise.
Yes, exercise. That dirty "e" word is an important part of staying healthy. Physical exercise is essential to your physical health and it also helps your emotional well-being as well. Start by walking instead of driving, if you can. Then schedule exercise at least three times per week. Daily is best. Don't forget to also exercise your mind!
Step 4: Nourish.
Feed yourself healthy, good foods. You don't have to become a vegetarian, just stop eating McDonald's every night for dinner. (Once in a while is OK.) Feed your heart and soul with books, television, movies, and things that inspire you.
Step 5: Play.
Play is essential to being happy and vibrant. Stop being so serious! Find time to laugh and have fun. Let your hair down. Sing in the car really loudly with the windows open - I do!
Step 6: Connect.
Connect with your spirituality and a higher power. If you don't believe in God, connect with nature or with the people you care about. Connecting is very important and is the key to a deep sense of inner well-being.
