Exercise and Breath

I can't tell you how many times I speak to a client on the phone about their stress, only to find out they are not exercising at all.

Exercise is probably the number one thing you can do for your well-being. Even if you can't do strenuous exercise, try doing mild exercise that works with your fitness level.

Not all exercise is equal.

I was in a yoga class with Guru Singh once, and he explained that any exercise that combines movement with the breath is exercise that is healing.

He gave as examples yoga, swimming, and bicycling. (All things I love to do!)

Qigong or tai chi are also excellent exercises that combine breath with movement.

The breath oxygenates the body and the movement improves muscle tone and cleans out physical toxins. Mindful breathing also helps reduce stress and anxiety.

I recommend to clients to try to do something physical at least three times per week. Daily is even better. A short daily yoga or qigong practice can make a tremendous difference in health, happiness, and well-being.

your RSS feed

Hi, Stephanie, I found you on Twitter and followed you to your blog and website. I am only sorry that I didn't get a chance to connect with you when I was living in Topanga! You seem like a wonderful soul.

Paul Blackthorne? The one from Lipstick Jungle, etc? He takes a gorgeous, luminous photograph!

So, I just wanted to make a suggestion that you update your RSS feed to say either your full name, or better, full name and business when someone gets your feed. Right now, it only says "stephanie", and I get several blog feeds from people named Stephanie, believe it or not!

These are the little administrative details that make a difference in the long run.

Just my two cents,

thanks for doing what you do!

warmly,

Jessica Waters

Thank you!

Thanks Jessica!

Yes, that is THE Paul Blackthorne from Lipstick Jungle...he is a gorgeous, luminous man who happens to take a mean photograph. I help him with his website at:

http://www.paulblackthorne.com

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the RSS feed. I'll have to figure out how to change that...Drupal (the platform this site is on) sometimes doesn't make things easy...

Glad to hear though that the Twitter linking is working properly!

:-) Stephanie
