Eckhart Tolle Synchronicity

Here's one of those amazing little synchronicities. I was at the library last week, looking for some books on yoga. I could not find what I was looking for, so I was aimlessly perusing the self-help/spirituality section to see if anything jumped out at me.

Then it occurred to me that maybe I should get a book by Eckhart Tolle. I have a few friends who are really into him, but I've never read any of his books. (Frankly, the whole Power of Now thing never spoke to me that strongly. Yeah, be in the moment. I get it!) I never had any urgency in reading him, but for some reason felt I should get a book by him that day.

Well, I looked around and there was no Tolle to be found. So I picked out some books and made my way to the exit. On the way out, I distinctly heard a librarian on the phone saying to a patron, "You are looking for a book by Eckhart Tolle?" The librarian repeated the name a few times as he was looking up Tolle on his computer.

OK, that was a bit coincidental! I took this as a sign I needed to look harder and so I sat down at the computer catalog to find out precisely where a Tolle book might be in the library. I jotted down some general sections and went back to the stacks to look. I could not find The Power of Now, but I did find A New Earth, which seemed much more interesting to me anyway what with the promise of "Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" on the front jacket. (I did, after all, get my coaching training in life purpose coaching!)

This might have been the little end of my synchronicity, except a few days later I ran across an online posting sharing the upcoming free Eckhart Tolle online workshop sponsored by Oprah. It was a 10-week course with full streaming video and started March 3, in just a few days. And, the course was based on the very book I had just picked up from the library!

Of course, I knew I was supposed to sign up for this course. And you can't beat the price.
